Well done to the under14 camogie team and mentors on reaching the semi-final in the Féile competition last Saturday.

The following is a report on the days proceedings from Frances Dillon one of the mentor's of the team.

Camógie Féile

Well done to the Féile Camogie team who won their Group to go straight to the semi-final on Saturday last May 15th. They won all of their Group games 7-1 v 1-0 against Ballyboden, 2-2 v 1-0 against Naomh Peregrine and, in a fiercely fought battle with Kilmacud Crokes for progression to the semi, a point in the final five minutes from Sara Boyle decided the issue 0-1 v 0-0.

Unfortunately the Mearnóg girls were up against a tight Whitehall Colmcille team in the semi-final who didn’t give an inch, and went on to win the final. Congratulations to each and every one of the Mearnóg team who played their hearts out over the 8 hours, particularly Laura Walsh who was in fine form throughout the day.

A special thanks to Brenda and Colum’s five U11’s who stepped up to swell the numbers for the day and did amazing work! Particular gratitude too goes to the parents who were great support for the girls and mentors on the day!

Congratulations to Naomh Bríd’s hospitality in hosting a wonderful 2010 camogie event with a real Féile atmosphere.
